CATSKILL, N.Y. – An exciting new era for pediatric care in Greene County has begun.

After more than $1 million in investments, the newly renovated and expanded Columbia Memorial Pediatrics center opened this week at the Greene Medical Arts building in Catskill. The new, 4,500-square-foot space includes eight state-of-the-art-exam rooms and two comfortable waiting areas to keep well and sick children separate.

The modern, inviting space is the new home of Dr. Catalina Alegre and Nurse Practitioner Nancy Getzke, who joined Columbia Memorial’s outstanding team of pediatric care providers, including pediatricians Dr. Hasmukh Harde, Dr. Arnel Hechanova, and Nurse Practitioner Connie Signor.

The new center is located in the C-Wing of the Greene Medical Arts building at 159 Jefferson Heights, just across the street from Dr. Alegre’s former office on South Jefferson Avenue.

“The investments we have made and continue to make at the Greene Medical Arts building reflect our commitment to Greene County and to building a healthy community,” said Columbia Memorial President/CEO Jay P. Cahalan. “We are also excited and proud to have added these well-established care givers to the Columbia Memorial Pediatrics family.”

Since purchasing Greene Medical Arts in 2012, Columbia Memorial has invested more than $8.5 million in the campus, with about $5 million being spent on capital improvements and renovations in the past year alone. Improvements have also been made to the facility’s primary care practices, Bone & Joint Center, and Blood Draw Center. In addition, the building is home to Greene Medical Imaging and the most advanced and spacious Open MRI in the Capital Region and Mid-Hudson River Valley.

“Our community-minded health network allows us to get to know our patients on a personal level and offers family care physicians who are broadly trained in a variety of specialties,” Cahalan said.
