Knowledge of job skills of surgical team members and use of operating room

Bachelor s degree in nursing required. Master s degree within 4 years of date
of hire. Two years of clinical nursing experience in Operating Room required.
Must obtain CNOR within 1 year of hire.

Licensure and registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS),
AORN member.

Two years of relevant clinical nursing experience required.


Responsible for ensuring staff adherence to Columbia Memorial Hospital s
Patient Safety Behaviors by practicing its error prevention tools, and
including but not limited to all policies, procedures and processes related to
the Patient Safety Program.
Provide a peri-operative educational program to teach all aspects of surgical
nursing. Will provide training in all specialties and importance of teamwork.
Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Demonstrates
leadership qualities in past practice. History of good attendance, reliability,
versatility and flexibility required. Must maintain
Professionalism at all times. Must possess the ability to communicate
effectively with all surgeons. Must demonstrate effective organizational and
efficient time management skills. Strong interests to remain current in the
AORN standards. Must have strong organizational skills. Must be able to
demonstrate expertise in the surgical arena. A strong teaching skill required.
Must support administrative polices
and procedures.
