BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SPECIALIST – 9691



The behavioral health specialist, as part of the primary care treatment team,
helps to identify and manage patients with medical and behavioral health
problems within the primary care setting. The behavioral health specialist
provides skill training through psychoeducation and/or patient education
strategies, as well as develops specific behavioral change plans for patients.

It is preferred that the behavioral health specialist have evidence of required
training, however training will be provided for those candidates that meet all
other clinical licensure requirements, so as to be able to provide brief
psychosocial interventions appropriate for primary care settings such as
problem-solving treatment.

Education: Graduate from an accredited master’s degree program in the mental
health field.

License/Certifications: Provisional LMHC, LMSW, LCSW or higher Certification in
Case Management preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in case management preferred.
General computer knowledge and capability to use computers required.
Critical thinking skills and ability to analyze complex data sets required.
Previous experience in the mental health field, counseling or related
experience.

Salary Range: $19.12 – $39.64
