CENTRAL SUPPLY TECHNICIAN – 10675

The CS Technician Trainee is responsible and accountable for all behaviors
described in this job description. He/She will work as a team member to
promote excellence in the delivery of health care in this facility. He/She
will be trained in performing the following duties and responsibilities:
cleaning/decontaminating, assembling, packaging and sterilization of
medical/surgical equipment and instrumentation from all areas of the hospital
and affiliated offsite clinics, according to department and/or hospital
policies and procedures. Duties within these responsibilities include the
operation of decontamination and sterilization equipment, sterilization
monitoring and record keeping and participation in other Quality
Assurance/Performance improvement activities. CS Technician Trainee duties and
responsibilities include but are not limited to the maintenance of the work
area and department equipment, the storage and distribution of supplies as well
as other equipment and instrumentation processed in the department. The CS
Tech Trainee will be required to study a Technical training manual to prepare
for taking an exam to attain Central Service Technical Certification within 18
months of January 1, 2015 or from date of hire.

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.

License/Certifications:
Must attain certification through one of the nationally accredited Central
Service Technician
credentialing organizations, within 18 months from January 1, 2015 and/or after
date of hire.

Experience:
Previous training in decontamination and/or sterilization procedures is
preferred.
Other related healthcare experience is very advantageous. When no previous
training or certification exists and other requirements are met, the facility
will
provide a structured program to prepare individual to qualify to take a
nationally
accredited examination.

Salary Range: $15.26 – $17.97
