NSG COORDINATOR – 10625

Overall responsibility for maintaining a safe therapeutic program environment.
Responsible for the scheduling and training of the nursing staff.

Ensures an adequate number of trained staff are on each shift to manage the
needs of the psychiatric patients on the unit. Ensures an adequate number of
trained staff are on each shift to cover the emergency room for the purpose of
assessing psychiatric patients and consulting with ED staff.

Ensures that the patient’s medical and psychiatric needs are met including, but
not limited to, passing medication, assessing mental status with staff
responding as needed and providing medical care as ordered. Duties include, but
are not limited to ensuring that all aspects of patient care are met such as
admission and discharge of patients, nursing treatment planning and provision,
guest/visitor relations and unit safety.

Education: Minimum of an RN, BSN or Masters in Nursing preferred. Appropriate
experience may be substituted for the greater education requirement.

License/Certifications: N.Y. State RN License required.

Experience: Minimum of five years progressive responsibility in a psychiatric
setting.

Salary Range: $31.21 – $54.03
