MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST – 10247

Test patient specimens, analyze and report results in a professional manner.
Demonstrate and apply the theoretical concepts of clinical Laboratory Medicine
using independent judgment. Maintain patient confidentiality of all patient
results. Draw patient specimens when necessary.

Education:
Minimum qualification to be recognized as a Technologist, as defined in Part 58
of the New York State Department of Health code of Laboratory Rules and
Regulations; successful completion of 90 credit hours at an Accredited College
or University, 16 hours in Chemistry, credits to include 6 hours in inorganic
Chemistry. 16 Semester hours in biology courses pertinent to medial Sciencies;
three semester hours in
Mathematics. Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from accredited college
or
University. Bachelor degree in one of the Chemical, Physical or Biological
sciences
and one year of pertinent Laboratory experience.

License/Certifications:
Must have current New York State Education Department Office of Professions
Licensure Registration Certificate or be in applied Status for Licensure as a
Medical Technologist. ASCP Certification or equivalent preferred.

Experience:
1 year minimum Clinical Laboratory experience.


Salary Range: $30.50 – $40.44
