An innovative hospital
The center of our network is Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, one of the most innovative and technically advanced facilities in the Hudson Valley. Over the last 10 years, we’ve invested more than $51 million in new facilities and equipment improvements, including surgical instrumentation, patient information systems and medical imaging technologies. Highlights of our updated facilities include the state-of-the-art emergency and surgical departments, nine-bed Intensive Care Unit and 71,300 square-foot office building and parking garage annex to make care easily accessible.
The CMH Bone & Joint Center – with state of the art facilities in Hudson and Catskill – serves the community’s orthopedic needs including minimally invasive techniques and total joint replacements. We’re still one of the few orthopedic programs to offer the innovative Birmingham Hip Resurfacing System which preserves bone and joint stability for young, active patients and offers an alternative to total hip replacement.
Transfusion-free medicine and surgery
Our transfusion-free surgical approach minimizes blood loss before, during and after surgery, and eliminates the risks associated with donor blood. CMH is one of only 130 hospitals nationwide to offer transfusion-free surgery.
Pain management program
With a multi-disciplinary approach, the CMH pain management program provides comprehensive treatment of both acute and chronic pain for inpatients and outpatients.
Premier surgical center
CMH is a center for surgical excellence in the Hudson Valley, recognized for our minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery program, our orthopedic surgery program and our transfusion-free surgery.
Access recorded discharge instructions anytime
The Hospital offers access to voice-recorded discharge instructions after patients are discharged to their home. The Vocera Care Experience Good to Go solution gives patients and authorized family or friends access to recorded instructions anytime. The instructions are recorded using a tablet device by CMH nurses as the instructions are given to patients.
The voice-recorded discharge instructions make it easy for patients and authorized family and friends to understand the path to recovery and good health.
