Visiting Hours at CMH
CMH thanks all visitors for their cooperation and compliance with specified visiting hours for each department
Medical and Post-Surgical Nursing Units
Visiting hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. All visitors must check in at the information desk located in the hospital’s main lobby. A visitor identification badge will be given upon arrival. We ask all visitors to adhere to the hours designated by CMH in an effort to provide our patients with adequate rest and privacy.
All visitors wishing to enter a room that has an isolation sign on the door must first report to the nursing station to receive important infection control instructions. No children under 12 years of age will be allowed in the Medical/Surgical Units, unless prior arrangements and approval have been given by the charge nurse, designee or the unit.
No children under 12 years of age are allowed in an isolation room without direct permission from the attending physician or charge nurse of the unit. All visitors should check with the primary nurse for diet restrictions prior to bringing patients any food or beverage. Parents of pediatric patients are encouraged to remain with the patient 24 hours per day. Parents may visit any time and are encouraged to stay overnight. A cot will be provided.
Critical Care Unit (CCU)
All visitors must call into the unit using the telephone located in the waiting room. Two visitors will be allowed to visit a CCU patient at a time between the hours of 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 – 7 p.m. daily.
Visiting hours are unrestricted. Healthy siblings over the age of two may visit, if accompanied by an adult, unless otherwise stated. Guest food trays are offered at breakfast, lunch and dinner for $5 each.
There are no limits on visiting hours. One visitor is allowed at the patient’s bedside at a time. A visitor badge must be worn at all times. During times of emergency, visitation will be restricted. Parents are encouraged to remain with pediatric patients at all times.
Visiting hours are Monday through Friday, 4 – 7 p.m. Weekend and holiday hours are 2 – 7 p.m. Exceptions may be made when clinically indicated. Generally, patients may receive up to two visitors at one time. Exceptions can be made by the treatment team.
Upon entering the unit, visitors will be asked to identify and produce all items that they are bringing onto the unit for patients. The hospital and campus is tobacco free. No tobacco or tobacco products are allowed.
Visitors may be restricted from visiting at times, depending upon patient condition. Children under the age of 16 are not allowed unless special arrangements have been made with staff. All other visitor guidelines are in effect.
Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult.
