MANAGER MEDICAL CODING TRAINER AND EDUCATOR – 9929

Qualifications:


Education: Bachelor s or Associate degree in HIM preferred; will consider years
of experience in a Healthcare setting in lieu of degree.

License/Certifications: RHIT/RHIA preferred. CCS and/or CPC required.

Experience: Two or more years of experience coding in a hospital setting. Five
years of extensive coding experience in a hospital setting will be accepted in
lieu of a two-year degree.

Extensive knowledge of:

– Coding principles and guidelines
– Facility Reimbursement systems
– Federal, state, and payer-specific regulations and policies pertaining to
documentation and coding

Strong managerial, leadership and interpersonal skills. Excellent
written and oral communication skills. Excellent analytical skills. Advanced
computer skill set.

Responsible to:Director of Health Information Management

Responsible for:AMHS Coding staff

Summary:

The medical coding trainer and educator is responsible for the development,
coordination, and presentation of training strategies for coding staff.
Manages the apprentice coders and participates in the hiring process across
Albany Med Health System (AMHS).

Salary Range: $34.36 – $56.72
