PATIENT SAFETY ASSOCIATE – 9642

Position Summary:
Responsible for adhering to Columbia Memorial Hospital’s Patient Safety
Behaviors by practicing its error prevention tools and including but not
limited to all policies, procedures and processes related to the Patient Safety
Program.

Provides direct visual observation to assigned patients who may be at risk to
harm self and/or others.

Assists in maintaining a safe environment for patients identified at risk.

Remains in constant attendance with patient who is being monitored and never
leaves patient unattended, uses call bell to ask for assistance and relief.

Ensures patients needs are being met by communicating such needs to nurse or
supervisor who is responsible for patient care.

Maintains control and composure while communicating with assigned patients.

Documents activities of patient.

Educational/Professional Requirements:
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required. Facility will provide
training prior to providing patient observation assignments.

Emotional maturity with ability to make decisions related to job function is
essential. Must be able to accept responsibility, follow written and verbal
instructions; willing to work under close supervision. Must be customer
sensitive and a team worker. Must maintain patient and staff confidentiality at
all times. Must have a professional appearance.


Salary Range: $15.00 – $15.00
