UNIT SECRETARY – 7420

Summary/Duties:

The Unit Secretary, under the direction and supervision of the Nurse
Manager/Registered
Nurse of the unit, is responsible for organization of the nursing station,
performing
clerical and receptionist duties and requisitioning of supplies, equipment and
services
from other departments. Transcribes physician orders neatly, timely and
legibly, the unit
secretary should be emotionally stable and mature, accurate, organized and
flexible in
his/her dealings with patients, family and staff. Must display a professional
appearance,
pleasant personality and mannerism. Must be able to accept responsibility and
implement actions to achieve goals and objectives of assigned clinical area.

Qualifications:

Education:

High School graduate. Medical terminology background preferred.

Experience: Clerical training or unit secretary experience preferred.
