Every patient who visits the Cardiopulmonary Department at CMH is treated and cared for by a licensed respiratory therapist who uses the latest technology to diagnose patients who have heart or lung conditions such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Tests we perform:
- Pulmonary Function Testing
- Arterial Blood Gas Analysis
- Pulse Oximetry
- Holter Monitoring
- Cardiac Stress Testing
- EEG and EKG
Our state-of-the-art ventilators provide the most effective mode of breathing assistance, which cuts down the amount of time a patient needs to be on the ventilator. Our echocardiogram equipment has extremely high resolution to show heart function and help diagnose valve and other heart abnormalities.
We also perform the highly specialized TEE, a procedure that allows pictures of the heart to be taken from inside the body, providing a better image. This procedure is performed by a Cardiologist with special training in this technique.
Adding a degree of comfort for expectant mothers, all of our therapists, nurses and physicians are NRP certified (Neo-Natal Resuscitation Provider) by the American Heart Association.
We believe an informed patient is a healthy patient. Our Cardiopulmonary Department provides community education for asthmatic children in both Greene and Columbia counties. It’s our goal to give the community the resources and knowledge needed to lead healthy and happy lives.
